Dear Bluefin Families,

Please find the attached list of swimmers selected to represent our team at Champs. This is always a difficult decision for our coaches, as we are limited in the number of swimmers we can bring. In some cases, only one swimmer per family may have been selected.

If your swimmer was not selected for Champs, their final opportunity to compete this season will be at our final regular season meet on Saturday, June 27. We are incredibly proud of all of our Bluefins and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and team spirit each swimmer has brought to the pool this season.

ACTION REQUIRED: If your swimmer was selected for Champs and is no longer able to attend, please reply to this email as soon as possible. We have alternate swimmers waiting and need to finalize our roster.

Being selected for Champs is a tremendous accomplishment, and we look forward to cheering on our Bluefins as they represent our team at the championship meet.

As we prepare for this exciting event, we're asking for your support in ensuring swimmers attend all practices over the next two weeks so they are fully prepared to perform their best.

Week of June 29–July 2 and July 6–July 8
• 11 & Up: 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM
• 10 & Under: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Champs Warm-Up Assignment – Thursday, July 9 at Chabot College

The EBSL has released warm-up assignments for Champs. Newark Bluefins have been assigned the following warm-up time: 11:00 AM – 11:55 AM at Chabot College 

Please note: There will be no practice on Friday, July 3, in observance of the holiday.

Champs Starts, Turns & Finishes Clinic

To help our Champs swimmers sharpen their starts, turns, and finishes before the championship meet, our coaches will be offering a six-session clinic.

Dates: June 29–July 1 and July 6–July 8 (Monday through Wednesday for two weeks)

Clinic Times:
• 11 & Up: 4:45 PM – 5:45 PM
• 10 & Under: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM (immediately following regular practice)

Cost: $120 per swimmer for all six sessions
Payment Deadline: Monday, June 29 (cash or check)

Please register based on your swimmer's age group, not the practice group they usually practice with.

Available Items:

Champs T-Shirt: $10
• Swimmers will not automatically receive a shirt.
• Please order one for your swimmer and any family members who would like to show their Bluefin spirit at Champs.
• The shirt will include the names of all Champs swimmers.

Meal Plate: $10
• Pasta meals are not included and must be ordered separately for both swimmers and family members.

Champs Program Cover Contest

• Swimmers are invited to submit artwork for the 2026 EBSL Champs Program Cover.

• Hard copies of cover art entries are due at the Newark Memorial High School pool by Tuesday, June 23 at 7:00 PM.
• Please note that 2026 marks the 50th Anniversary of EBSL, and swimmers are encouraged to incorporate this milestone along with all 12 EBSL teams into their design.
